A photo album tied to the whole wedding website

Joy and Migumento are both QR photo albums for celebrations. Joy throws in the photo album with the wedding website — with us, the album is the whole product, with no app requirement and with real video upload.

Joy doesn’t sell a standalone photo album: it’s one part of the free wedsite suite made up of a website, RSVP and gift registry. Anyone who just wants to collect photos still gets the whole platform — including the app requirement for the guest book.

Guest videos run exclusively as embedded YouTube or Vimeo links: ‘Joy supports videos hosted on YouTube and Vimeo.’ There is no direct video upload.

Joy is a provider from the USA (withjoy.com); Migumento has no connection to Joy.

What Migumento stands for

Every item is stored exactly as it left the camera — up to 50 MB per photo and 1 GB per video, nothing shrunk. When you download it, you get back exactly that file.

Uploads that arrive, even with no signal

A guest book of its own. Photos and messages land together in the app’s Moments guest book; with us there are reactions and comments on the photo, but no guest book of its own.

The verdict

Anyone who wants to build a free wedding website with RSVP and gift registry anyway, and can live with an app requirement for the guest book, has found what they need at Joy. Anyone who just wants the photo album — with no app requirement for guests and without the rest of the suite — is better off with us.

When Joy is the better choice

You’re planning a wedding website anyway: with Joy the album costs nothing extra, because the provider is funded by commissions from the gift registry, and according to the provider the photos stay ‘forever’.

What does Joy cost, what does Migumento cost?

There: USD 0 — the photo album is part of the free Wedsite package, no separate purchase price. With us, collecting is free; unlocking is a one-off from €19.

Can I switch from Joy to Migumento?

Yes: download there, upload again here. There’s no automatic transfer.

Do our guests need an app or an account?

Not with us — the link is enough, and the first upload asks for a first name. And at Joy, without an app or an account? According to the FAQ, uploads to the website need the Joy app; the guest book needs an account on top.

When does the access period start, and how long does the album stay online?

There: unlimited — according to the provider, photos stay permanently on the private website. With us 12 or 24 months from the unlock (the day of payment), depending on the plan; if the free window — 6 months from the day you create the event — runs longer, the later date applies. Extending gives the plan’s months again from the day of the extension, as often as you like. Collecting is free, so the best time to unlock is after the celebration.

Is there a free Joy alternative?

Yes, Migumento. Creating an event, collecting, viewing and the Live Wall cost nothing, for 6 months, no card. You only pay for downloads above 400 MB or for more than 6 months online — a one-off payment, no subscription.

Do our photos and videos keep their quality?

Yes. We store every file unchanged, up to 50 MB per photo and 1 GB per video. When you download it, you get back exactly the file your guest uploaded.
